Varsity Boys Basketball finishes the season on a hopeful note
The Varsity boys basketball team had a solid run this school year. They ended the season with an overall record of 15-11.
The boys kicked off the season with two back-to-back wins against Irving MacArthur and Frisco (scores were 52-44 and 70-60, respectively).
However, the winning streak did not last for long. The victories were followed by two losses against Decatur and McKinney North (33-51 and 45-57.) The Raiders quickly re-found their footing and ended the season on a high note, defeating hometown rivals, Denton High School, 99-62.
The DHS game was one of the season’s highlights for senior Luke Hill.
“It was a lot of fun because everyone was kind of emotional,” he said. “Everyone was just really happy to be there because it was the last game, and we went out feeling strong.”
Despite performing well through the season, the boys did not advance to playoffs.
In hopes for a future spot in the playoffs, underclassmen will continue to practice during their offseason in preparation for the 2019-2020 school year.
