Join Raider Media for the 2025-2026 school year!

We’re growing and we need you! If you have an interest in writing, sports, videography, photography, design, marketing, computers or just having fun – take a journalism class! We’re looking for photographers, writers, videographers and more! Join the national award-winning Raider Media program. Fill out the application below! Reach out to Miss Schreiner with questions!

Did you know?

  • Most journalism students are involved in other sports or activities. We have a student from most sports teams, band, choir, theatre, AFJROTC and more.
  • Journalism/Student Media students earn college scholarships from UIL.
  • Over 800 people purchase our yearbook, The Legend, each year. And that number has increased almost every year.
  • The Legend yearbook has won the title of a Jostens Program of Excellence for the last four years!
  • We have been nationally recognized by Jostens for the last three years, including winning Grand Prize for their annual photo contest, in which the photographer won $1,000 and a brand new camera.
  • Raider Media graduates have gone on to attend the University of North Texas Frank W. and Mayborn School of Journalism, Sam Houston State University, Texas A&M College of Communications, University of Texas, and the United States Navy as Mass Communications Specialists.

Classes Offered ( No Application Needed):

  • Journalism I
  • Photojournalism

Classes offered that require an application:

  • Advanced Broadcast Journalism I, II, & III
  • Advanced Journalism: News I, II, & III
  • Advanced Journalism: Yearbook I, II, & III

Application Process for Advanced Journalism (News) and Broadcast:

  • Fill out the application (coming soon)
  • Select two teachers for references (form coming soon) *we will contact your teachers and give them the forms. No need to print.
  • If selected, Miss Schreiner will contact you for a brief meeting and to give you a parent permission slip/student agreement that must be signed and returned prior to enrollment or any schedule changes.

Yearbook Application Process:

  • Fill out the application (coming soon) and return it to room 216 (if you can’t print, stop by 216 and grab a copy!)
  • Select two teachers for references (form coming soon) *we will contact your teachers and give them the forms. No need to print.
  • Interview with Miss Schreiner and current yearbook Editor in Chief – she will reach out to you! (Only required for Yearbook Staff applications)
  • You (and your parent) will sign a parent permission slip/student agreement
