The varsity softball team is going to playoffs

With an overall record so far of 13-19 and a district record of 6-6, the varsity softball team is going to playoffs.

“Our season’s been a struggle so far,” junior Abby Buettner said. “We’ve had to adjust to a lot of new things and we’re just now finding our footing.”

Their last game against Little Elm was close with a 6-5 loss, but junior Harper Hughes said it was one of their best games.

“The second time we played Little Elm stood out because the team that we can be finally showed up,” Hughes said. “It was the first time everything really came together, and we never gave up.”

Though there were other games that stood out more to Buettner.

“Our second game against Northwest stood out because it was the first time we came together and performed how we were supposed to,” Buettner said.

They won against Northwest 13-3 because of that improved teamwork, and have been better ever since.

“I’m looking forward to our playoff games,” Hughes said. “It gives us yet another chance to show people who we really are.”
